Pregnancy

If you believe that you may be pregnant the best thing to do is to take a pregnancy test and to see your physician. There are many things that can go worng during a pregnancy like a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, premature birth, etc. Teenage pregnancies carry a lot of health risks to the mother and baby because the mother's body is not fully developed yet. They have a higher risk of pregnancy related high blood pressure. If you are unsure whether to have a baby, you have options like adoption or abortion.

STIs

STDs also known as sexually transmitted diseases are caused by infections that are passed from one person to another during sexual contact. Most of these infections don't have symptoms. There are many sexual transmitted diseases like Chlamydia, Herpes, Genital warts, Syphilis, etc. If you think you have a STI, you should see your physician immediately. Remember that if it begins with an "H" there is no cure.

Birth Control

There are many forms of birth control. The most common are condoms and the pill, but other types include diaphragm, cervical cap, vaginal ring, IUD, the morning after pill to name a few. But the best way to protect you from a pregnancy scare is ABSTINENCE!

Abortion

There are 2 types of abortions: the abortion pill or clinical. If you are under 18 and thinking about getting an abortion you may need 1 or both parents to be present. 1 in 3 women will have an abortion before they are 45.The pill can be used 9 weeks after the first day of the women's last period. The pill is very effective, 97% to be exact. This type of abortion is pretty safe but with any medication there may be side effects like allergic reactions, an incomplete pregnancy, infection, heavy bleeding.
In a clinical abortion the most common is aspiration which can me used 16 weeks after the women's last period. This method is very effective, it works everytime it is performed.
